What are popup blockers and how can they be switched off?
Popup blockers
A popup blocker prevents new windows from automatically opening when you visit a website. It is normally used to prevent advertisers from interrupting your viewing of a website.
TrainingCheck does not use popups for advertising but it does use them to, for example, launch evaluations, preview items and to show guidance information. So you will need to ensure that popups are allowed from this site.
To allow popups from the TrainingCheck but block all others within Internet Explorer 7.x onwards:
- Click on Tools on the menu items at the top of your browser
- Navigate down to Pop-up blocker
- Click on Pop-up Blocker Settings
- In box marked Address of Website to Allow, type: www.trainingcheck.com
- Click Add and then click Close.
Alternatively, to switch off the popup blocker completely:
- Click on Tools on the menu items at the top of your browser
- Navigate down to Pop-up Blocker
- Click on Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.
